Rhetorical Galleries Presents: Telecast for Televisor by Steve Gompf, a series of video works inside the phICA Shipping Containers on Roosevelt Row.
Steve Gompf’s animation is created from details gleaned from the sequential still photographic motion studies of human and animal actions pioneered by 19th century British photographer Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904). By digitally reconstructing, recombining, rearranging, reanimating, these images are re-envisioned & re-imaged to create haunting, ethereal and thought provoking characters and creatures to inhabit the strange dreamlike world Gompf animates.
This exhibition is a one night only event on First Friday, August 5, 2016.
